What is Patently Jobvious?

Patently Jobvious is the completely free online job board for direct IP attorney jobs.

Patently Jobvious only features direct IP attorney jobs (listings made by the ultimate employer and not a recruitment agency), allowing candidates to know the identity of the employer from the outset and to apply directly to employers they’re interested in.

Candidates don’t apply “through” Patently Jobvious, but contact the employer directly using an email address given in a job listing.

Does Patently Jobvious work?

Absolutely. Hopefully having your job listed on Patently Jobvious will help you attract great candidates, but feel free to use any other recruitment channels you like in parallel.

What’s the history behind Patently Jobvious?

Iain Russell, Alan Cucknell and Alastair Burgess created the first version of Patently Jobvious in 2016. The first version used a smart algorithm to match employers and candidates – like online dating, but for IP attorney jobs. The first iteration allowed employers to save money on recruitment by charging a lower recruitment success fee than is traditionally charged by recruitment agents in the IP profession.

The current iteration of Patently Jobvious builds on these foundations, but circles back to the original aim of simply making recruitment in the IP profession easier, cheaper, and more transparent. Patently Jobvious is now operated by Russell IP.
